SHUGHUL (pronounced: shu-ghul) comes from Arabic and means work, activity, or business. The name reflects exactly what the platform is built for.
SHUGHUL is a Progressive Web App platform for Juba, South Sudan, focused on helping people find casual work and helping others get work done. Our goal is summed up in our motto: Work Meets Workers.
The Problem
In Juba, finding casual work is uncertain. People depend on word of mouth or being in the right place at the right time. At the same time, those who need workers often struggle to find them quickly. This wastes time and reduces income on both sides. There is no central place where workers and employers can easily find each other.
The Solution
SHUGHUL makes it easier for workers and employers to find each other. Jobs are listed by type, location, and time. Users connect directly and agree on terms themselves.
SHUGHUL does not employ workers or take part in the work arrangement. It only provides access to job listings and worker profiles so that both sides can connect on their own terms. The platform is completely free to use, with no fees or commissions.
